Litter picking and Balsam bashing a great success

The CATCH team were back in action on Sunday, clearing litter from in and around the river Cale and uprooting Himalayan balsam from the banks. Although a large quantity of litter was collected, much of it was clearly “historical rubbish” that had been awaiting collection for some years, and it is noteworthy that the Cale does not seem to collect as much litter, as quickly, as it did two years ago before CATCH was formed. It is pleasant for the Committee members to believe that this might be at least in part due to our efforts.
